Teyler's Museum in Haarlem

The Teyler's Museum in Haarlem is the oldest museum in the Netherlands. The museum is located in the former home of Pieter Teyler van der Hulst (1702–1778).

Teyler was a very wealthy cloth merchant and Amsterdam banker of Scottish descent, who bequeathed his fortune for the advancement of religion, art and science.


The museum houses a large collection of fossils and scientific instruments and drawings and paintings of old masters.
