The Teyler's Museum in Haarlem is the oldest museum in the Netherlands. The museum is located in the former home of Pieter Teyler van der Hulst (1702–1778).

Teyler was a very wealthy cloth merchant and Amsterdam banker of Scottish descent, who bequeathed his fortune for the advancement of religion, art and science.

The Windmills of Kinderdijk

The 19 windmills are situated in a polder called the "Alblasserwaard" to drain the polder, an ingenious system of 19 pupming windmills were built around 1740.
